Software architecture
|
| Scalability |
| Time&Space software has practically unlimited growth
capacity. It has been successfully implemented in organizations
with thousands of users spread on multiple
geographical locations. At the same time, it can be in used in
very small organization or branch offices with equal success.
This remarkable scalability does not happen by chance, it has
been achieved through careful design of data-intensive
operations and by providing special features for managing
large systems.
|
| Modularity |
|
Software modularity is the key for managing complex
integrated systems. Time&Space software components can be
combined according to system size, available IT infrastructure
and user requirements. Thanks to modular structure, building
blocks can be added gradually as they are needed, allowing
easier system expansions.
|
|
|
| Connectivity |
| Time&Space software accommodates practically all major
methods of data communication. Data can be collected through
standard serial interfaces, modems or IP networks including the internet. The system can be administered from remote
workstations through LAN or WAN. The ultimate connectivity is
provided by web access allowing large number of time
management clients requiring very little system administration.
|
| Compatibility |
| There are no exotic or unusual requirements for deploying
Time&Space. It is made for conventional
PC/Windows/LAN/WAN/IP networks environment. Two most popular
data platforms are supported equally, Microsoft MSSQL and
Oracle.
|
| Interoperability |
| Time management is often taken as a part of HR (human
resources) system. Calculation of hours worked is used by
Payroll application, sick leaves and vacations are connected
to HR and there are several other points of integration with
wider IT environment. Interoperability with Time&Space is
provided on several levels: through built-in data exports, by
a separate export utility, by direct access to Oracle or MSSQL
tables. The ultimate level is available through Time&Space
SDK (Software Development Kit).
|
| Ease of use |
| Access control applications in particular are notorious for
unfriendly user interfaces with myriads of hard to understand
and rarely used parameters. On the other hand, time and
attendance is dealing with the sea of numbers, which easily
overwhelms even most experienced administrators.
Time&Space tackles both challenges through systematic
use of complexity hiding principles, high responsiveness
through real-time operation and extensive use of data visualization. The end result is improved user experience with
sense of broad vision and control.
|
| Localization |
| Being on the international market makes us especially aware
of the language problem. We have embedded localization capability into our software right from the start. The package
can be translated into local language by the national
distributor, reseller, integrator or even by the end-user. The
translations are incremental, meaning that new version retains
the language material from previous version.
